Pit bull- A collection of dog breeds that are also known as the “bully” breeds

Pit bulls were originally bred for bull baiting which is why they have a very stocky body and blocky head. They went from this to being used in dog fighting and guard dogs because of their traits and looks. They are most known as fighting dogs with aggression and behavioral problems. The media also portrays them in a very negative light because of their past history. With the growing popularity of the breed as personal pets, there has also arisen a problem with laws. Some places have decided that to keep their citizens safe, the best means of action are to ban the breeds known as pit bulls from being owned in any circumstances. These laws tend to cause many of dogs being misidentified and many dogs who couldĀ become pets to be euthanized.
